미국 산타크루즈 캘리포니아대와 카네기연구소 연구팀은 지구에서 약 20광년(1광년=약 9.46ⅹ1,012km) 떨어진 우주에서 최초의 골디락스 행성 '글리제581g'를 발견했다고 발표했다. 연구팀은 이 행성의 표면온도를 영하 32~12도, 질량을 지구의 3~4배로 추정했다. 이 정도면 액체 상태의 물이 있을 가능성이 높고, 대기를 붙잡아 두기에도 충분한 질량이라는 것이다. 중력도 지구와 비슷할 거라고 연구팀은 추측했다. 발표 직후 과학계는 글리제581g가 지구와 꼭 닮아 생명체가 살기에 적합한 환경이라며 흥분을 감추지 못했다. 지구와 같은 행성을 발견해다고 발표함 골디락스존은 경제용어로 자주 쓰는 언어 이 행성은 골디락스 금발미녀행성 (Gliese 581 g)이며 천정자리에 위치 지구에서 20광년 거리에 있습니다. 음악 양정승 밤하늘별을 Astronomers have announced they have discovered an earth like planet that could support the crucial conditions needed for life to exist.
